A BROMLEY Cross-based beautician is offering frightfully fantastic makeovers this Halloween.

Throughout the rest of the year, Olivia Cafferty uses her skills to help brides look picture perfect or ladies glam up for a night out.

But as the night of ghosts and ghouls draws closer, the 22-year-old is on hand to give men, women and children the perfect spooky look.

The former Rivington and Blackrod High School pupil has just started working as a make-up artist at Escape Hairdressing & Beauty, Darwen Road.

Olivia, who lives in Lostock, uses regular make-up and brands to create her menacing makeovers, to fright and delight partygoers, such as a hollowed-out neck and skeleton look.

She said: "With it being Halloween next weekend, there's going to be a lot of that going on.

"Generally, Fridays and Saturdays, it's busy for people going out, going to weddings, Christenings, things like that.

"I've been doing it going on for four years. I trained in beauty and went on to make-up.

"I worked at Selfridges for two years.

"I've always done this kind of make-up because that's what I originally wanted to train in, more special effects.

"I did that on my beauty course and my make-up course.

"It's always been popular but even more so now."

This year's Halloween falls on Friday when many people will be dressing up for nights out, as an array of creepy characters including witches, devils and zombies.

Olivia does not use any face paints but just make-up including foundation, bronzer, eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick which can later be removed easily at home.

It took Olivia just under an hour to create the half-and-half glamorous/ skeleton look which costs £30 and other more gory ones, which use more products, cost £40 to £45.

Bookings are now being taken, phone the salon on 01204 593599.
