BCMCS Youth Theatre is saddling up ready for its next production.

The group is taking on the wacky play Ye-Ha, billed as the wildest musical in the west — and tickets are on sale now.

In looking for a show for its second production this year at Walmsley Parish Hall, BCMCS wanted to find one in which its young members would enjoy taking part — and what could be more enjoyable for kids than dressing up as cowboys and Indians?

The action takes place in Splodge City where something stinks — and it ain't the drains. Mad Dog McNut and his gang are running wild and Wilbur Hubbard, cowardly cook at the Fordoor Saloon lands the job no-one wants — Sheriff of Splodge. Luckily for Wilbur, Billie-Jo Brisket and her faithful steed Lightning roll into town to lend a hand, and suddenly the race is on to save the town.

Society secretary Neville Grady said: "The show squeezes all the fun and adventure of the old west into a wonderfully wild and wacky musical comedy which mixes comical characters, a side-splitting script and sparkling songs and a pantomime horse to add to the fun. It's a rootin-tootin tale of crazy cowboys, barmy baddies, masked heroes and hidden gold."

The cast has an average age of 12, with many of them performing on stage for the first time. BCMCS has a thriving youth group and in the past many of them have progressed to take part, and even star in, shows presented by BCMCS adult members.

The society will also be debuting its new state of the art portable tiering system, which is available for other societies to use.

The show will be presented at Walmsley Parish Hall, Egerton, from tonight until Saturday, starting at 7.15 pm. There is a also matinée on Saturday starting at 2.15 pm.

Tickets are £5. Telephone 01204 856977 for more information.
