PREPARE for the Full Monty, a stage version of the hit movie, which comes to Manchester Opera House for a week at the end of October.

The story of six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers who form a male dance group to make a living, will feature songs from the movie including hits by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

The cast for the show which runs from Monday, October 31, to Saturday, November 5, has been announced.

It is led by Gary Lucy star of the Bill, EastEnders and Footballer’s Wives and also includes Joe Absolom, of EastEnders and Doc Martin fame, and Dinnerladies’ Andrew Dunn.

Other well-known names in the show are Louis Emerick (Mick Johnson in Brookside) as Horse, Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star Chris Fountain and Kai Owen, best known for playing Rhys in Torchwood.

Oscar and BAFTA-winning writer of the film Simon Beaufoy has adapted his own screenplay for this new touring stage production.

This is his first work for the theatre.

His screen credits include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Salmon Fishing in Yemen, 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire.

The show is directed by Jack Ryder, probably best known for the four years he spent on EastEnders as Jamie Mitchell.
