ONE of the most famous weddings to take to the stage held its own tying-of-the-knot in Bolton back in 1988.
Walking down the aisle were the players of Opera 74 in a production of Mozart's famous comic opera, The Marriage of Figaro.
The production was brought to Albert Halls Audiences in the summer of that year, with a public dress rehearsal on Bank Holiday Monday on May 30 followed by three nights of shows on June 1 to 3.
Pictured are the members of the cast posing up during rehearsals.
They include Paul Roberts as the hero Figaro, Ann Haslam as his fiancee Susanna, Alan Roscoe as the scheming Count Almaviva and Jane Evans as his frustrated wife Countess Almaviva.
The show was produced by Jean Hansen alongside Michael Greenhalgh who conducted a professional orchestra for the performances.
