SOAP fans from Bolton and beyond can enjoy Christmas on the Cobbles this festive season.

Visitors to Coronation Street The Tour can experience the magic of a Weatherfield Christmas, for the first time in the show's 53 year history.

The festive side of the street is on display until Sunday, January 11, with fairy lights twinkling on Christmas trees, the houses adorned with decorations and snow-covered roof tops.

Juliana Delaney, CEO of Continuum Leading Attractions which runs the tours, said: "The Tour is now open for a magical and unique Christmas on the cobbles experience, complete with snow-covered rooftops and Christmas carols.

"Since we opened in April 2014, the feedback we have received has been phenomenal.

"I’m so pleased those who have yet to experience the tour will now get the chance to, and those who have can see it in a whole new ‘white’.

"It continues to be a privilege to work with ITV to allow visitors to step onto the cobbles and into this nationally-loved brand.

"As the snow falls on the nation’s street, it’s difficult to imagine a more delightful place to be in the run up to Christmas."

Throughout Christmas on the Cobbles, there will be 21Christmas trees, 977 glittering baubles, 800 tonnes of snow, more than 10,000 fairy lights and 50,000 mince pies served.

Upon entering the studio, visitors will not only be able to see the magic of Christmas, they will also be able to smell it as scents including berries, cinnamon, chocolate orange and pine are pumped through the tour.

The interior sets have been given a festive make over, demonstrating how the Platt’s and Duckworth’s homes would be decorated.

Visitors will also get the chance to experience Christmas in the Rovers Return and have a picture taken behind the bar which has been dressed with decorations.

There will also be plenty of other festive surprises and treats, including a trip through past Corrie Christmases with a special video montage, Christmas carols and late night twilight tours on Fridays and Saturdays until 7pm.

From tomorrow until Christmas, throughout the twelve days leading up to the big day itself, choirs, brass bands and singing groups will be serenading visitors with carols.

Tickets to Christmas on the Cobbles, located at the show's former set in Manchester city centre, are available at the standard price and can be booked now at ticketmaster.co.uk/coronationstreet.
