THE BBC series Garrow’s Law, starring Bolton actor Andrew Buchan, has been axed.
The series, which finished its last season with audiences of around four million viewers, was based on the real life of 18th century lawyer William Garrow, who fought for legal reform.
Former Rivington and Blackrod pupil Buchan, who grew up in Lostock, played the title role, alongside Alun Armstrong, Lyndsey Marshall and Rupert Graves.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: "BBC1 will screen more than 20 new dramas this year, but Garrow’s Law will not be returning."
