ROYLE Family star Ralf Little is celebrating after his series The Cafe was recommissioned for a second series.
The former Bolton School pupil co-wrote and stars in the show, which is set in a café in Weston-Super-Mare.
He plays Richard, the former childhood sweetheart of the cafe owner’s granddaughter Sarah, now a care home assistant by day and a musician by night.
The show also stars June Watson, Michelle Terry, Ellie Haddington and Daniel Ings.
Ralf said: “It’s been amazing, and frankly a relief, to learn that The Cafe had a warm critical reception, but none of that matters if the powers that be don't have the faith to re-commission another series.
“Luckily for us, Stuart Murphy and Lucy Lumsden are continually supportive and have once again put their money where their mouths are. Now we just have to write it.”
The eight-episode new series will air in 2013.
