1. Enjoy rap, reggae and poetry at Westhoughton Library. Rap poet and cultural reggae artist Donavan Christopher, aka Rappaman, will be there between 10.30am to 3.30pm on Saturday in celebration of Thursday's World Book Day.
2. Spend Saturday night rocking to the sounds of Def Leppard (pictured below). Tribute band Dep Leppard will be at Moses Gate Hotel, Farnworth, from 8pm – the band even has a lead singer from Sheffield.
3. Three-piece indie rock band Telling Twins Apart will be at the Blue Boar, Deansgate, on Saturday night. The group will headline the night of music with support act Into The Blue performing from 7.30pm. Free entry.
4. Watch the TV stars of Scrappers - from Metro Salvage - take on a team from rival scrapyard A & C Auto Salvage. Join them as they go head-to-head at Darcy Lever Cricket Club from noon on Sunday in a range of It's a Knockout-style challenges to decide who will be the winner of the scrap war.
5. Fancy learning a new skill while meeting new people who share the same interest in conservation as you? The Bolton Conservation Volunteers are offering a free day of instruction in dry stone walling at Wilderswood, Horwich. They will meet outside the Sweet Green Tavern, Crook Street, at 9.55am.
