Everyone's favourite Bolton Scrappers are finally back on our screens.

After months of delays, a date has been confirmed for the second series of hit TV show Scrappers — which charts the highs and lows of scrapyard Metro Salvage, Waterloo Street.

The first episode of Scrappers: Back in the Yard will be aired at 10pm on Tuesday on BBC 2.

Fans were left crushed when the second series failed to air last year, which the BBC said was due to “legal reasons”.

Straight-talking scrapyard owner Terry Walker and his perfectly pampered wife, Lyndsay, are returning to offer insight into the workings of their multi-million pound business.

Metro Salvage has attracted huge attention since series one in 2014 and fans are eager to see wheeler-dealer Terry and friends back on TV.

Terry said: “We’re very happy that the second series of Scrappers is finally going to go ahead. It seems like we’ve been waiting forever.

“All the staff are very excited. We’re still not allowed to discuss why it was delayed originally but will be able to discuss it, when the series finishes in April.”

Fans of the show have since taken to social media to express their delight with one Facebook user, Gav Gavo Jolly, saying: “Been waiting a while for this. Happy days.”

Gail Shevlin wrote: “Literally. Cannot. Wait.”

In the first of the six-part series, hard-knock wheeler-dealer Terry is seen showing his softer side when he brings Lyndsay breakfast in bed on her 50th birthday.

The couple have endured a pretty disastrous year and they hope this will mark a turning point.

Back in the yard, their staff are taking part in health and safety training but it doesn't go quite to plan, and Terry is forced to take drastic steps when one of the lads makes a costly mistake.

We will also get to see the Walker kids — Jemma, Cathy and Jon — struggling to keep up with the stresses of the family business.
