TALENTED Boltonians are being celebrated in this year’s National Television Awards.

Maxine Peake, Paddy McGuinness, Peter Kay, Sara Cox and Victoria Derbyshire are among the long list of contenders in this year’s public vote.

Peter Kay’s Car Share is up for the Comedy award but is facing off against fellow Bolton funny man Paddy’s The Keith and Paddy Picture Show.

Another Paddy McGuinness show, Take Me Out, is vying for the new Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award while the man himself is inline for TV Presenter of the year.

BBC Drama Three Girls, about the investigation into the Rochdale child sex abuse ring, starring Maxine Peake could win best Drama while the actress is up for best Drama Performance for her portrayal of sexual health worker Sara Rowbotham.

Elsewhere Victoria Derbyshire could take the winners podium as the broadcaster’s BBC programme is up for the Daytime award.

Meanwhile the Challenge Show award could be picked up by The Great Show Down and presenter Sara Cox.

However, they face some tough competition with the likes of Love Island, Doctor Foster, Ant and Dec, Tom Hardy, Sheridan Smith, The Graham Norton Show, The Big Bang Theory and This Morning all in long list.
