CHILDREN from St James Daisy Hill Primary School in Westhoughton hosted an afternoon of tea and cakes for parents to cap off a class project about London.

More than 60 Year Two pupils held the event after a term of studying the capital and the Royal Family, with more than 100 family members attending.

During the project the pupils received personalised letters from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, after they wrote to the royals to celebrate Prince George’s birthday.

Teacher Melissa Wolfenden said: “All of the children have thoroughly enjoyed the project, as have the parents who have been involved.

“Everyone was very complimentary about the afternoon tea and I think that was reflected in the huge number of parents who attended.”
