A CHARITY training centre has helped more than 300 unemployed adults in the past 15 months.

The Comco Skills Training Centre in Rossini Street in Halliwell is run by local charity Community Care Options to offer unemployed and vulnerable adults free skills training and therapeutic work experience.

The centre was refurbished in 2013 and provides short practical courses and accredited qualifications in a variety of sectors.

The adults who attend the centre range from those with disabilities, learning difficulties as well as other complex needs, who are encouraged to develop skills.

The Training Centre, which receives a small grant from Bolton Council, won an award for Innovative Community Engagement in June.

Winnie Duffy, Senior Employment Officer from Bolton Employment Support Team said:

“The team feel that Comco Skills Training Centre is a much needed service as it provides the opportunity for vulnerable adults to experience work and training in a none threatening, supportive environment.”

The centre is constantly in need of support and sponsorships to continue to successfully help the most vulnerable adults in Bolton.

Anyone interested in assisting the Comco centre is encouraged to contact 01204843492 and ask for Liz.
