STUNNING aerial videos have revealed the beautiful, rolling countryside surrounding Bolton.

Drone footage shot by Chapeltown resident, Nick Kernick, gives a unique view of the borough’s green and pleasant land.

The 44-year-old often pre-plots a route for the Parrot Bepob 2 drone on his laptop, before letting the device fly 70 metres above ground.

“It follows the course you’ve plotted and you can get it to circle around a particular point.

“It returns and lands itself."

The series of videos were created by Mr Kernick for Social Assist – a Bolton company which helps businesses manage their social media output.

As well as being MD for Social Assist, Mr Kernick also runs sportswear supplier, Custom Kit, in Blackburn Road, Cricket World in the Valley and Systems Direct.

A self-confessed ‘geek’, Mr Kernick is a batter for Edgworth Cricket Club and even plans to film a match in progress – slogged, airborne sixes notwithstanding.

From churches to football grounds, his shots show some of Bolton’s well known landmarks, businesses and tourist attractions.

Turton Tower, Edgworth Cricket Club, The Wayoh, Turton FC, Chetham Farm Retreat, The Wellbeing Farm, Entwistle Viaduct and St Anne’s Chapeltown have all featured in videos shot by Mr Kernick.

He also plans to turn his attention to filming over Bromley Cross in the coming months.
