A DATE has been set for the trial of a man accused of attempting to murder a three-year-old girl by dropping her off a bridge into a river.
No plea was entered by Damien Smith, aged 39, of Le Gendre Street, Bolton, when he appeared at Manchester Crown Court via a video link.
Smith was charged after police were called to Crompton Way, Bolton at 8.30pm on September 29 following reports that a man was threatening to drop a child into the River Tonge.
He is due to appear in court for a further hearing on January 22 and his trial has been listed to take place on April 11.
