FURNACE: Sherwin-Willams, in Kestor Street
AN industrial furnace overheated in the laboratories of a paint manufacturer.
Fire crews were called to Sherwin Williams, in Kestor Street, at about 2pm this afternoon (Thursday).
Staff were able to isolate the fire and evacuate the building before calling emergency services.
On arrival, firefighters monitored the situation for about an hour to ensure the situation did not worsen and the premises remained safe.
Watch manager Tony McKenna said the fire had broken out in an area where tests were being carried out on paint products.
