A PUBLIC consultation event will be held to give residents their say on the future use of a new community hub.

Visitors are invited to Little Lever Centre, in Herbert Street, to express their views on how the building's indoor and outdoor space can be used.

The former children's centre could become home to cookery, music and craft sessions, parenting, sewing or exercise classes, gardening groups or coffee mornings among other ideas.

Centre administrator Sharon Openshaw said: "We are hoping the centre will become a thriving community hub.

"We are welcoming people to have a look at the services currently using the centre and inviting people to let us know what they would like from the centre.

"We are also asking for volunteers who may be able to spare a few hours to make this happen.

"Please come along to the open day and tell us what you would like to see."

Mytham Primary School took over the running of the building in April 2017 and have since launched a new nursery, Mytham Little Stars, which is also hosting its open day on Saturday.

To attend the consultation, organised by Altogether Little Lever community group, visit the centre between 11am and 3pm tomorrow.

Residents who are unable to attend have been asked to complete an online survey at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/2B6MNBG.
