BOLTON Council will be holding a series of consultation meetings on proposals to make £35.6 million-worth of cuts.

The savings, which will be made over the next two years, make up about 20 per cent of the council’s controllable budget and follows £60 million already saved in the last two years.

A return to fortnightly bin collections, closing youth centres, reducing grasscutting and road-gritting and shutting supported-living homes are all being considered by Town Hall chiefs.

There will be meetings at Horwich Resource Centre, Beaumont Road, Horwich, at 7pm, on October 30; at Turton High School Media Arts College, Arts Theatre, Bromley Cross, at 7pm on November 1; at the council chamber, Westhoughton Town Hall, Market Street, Westhoughton, at 7pm on November 7, at Festival Hall, Bolton Town Hall at 1pm on November 14 and Trinity Church Hall, Market Street, Farnworth, at 7pm on November 14.
