Landlords to get lowdown on protecting their tenants

First published in

n LANDLORDS in Bolton are being urged to make sure they know how to keep their tenants safe and prevent themselves becoming victims of crime.

Greater Manchester Police’s Crime Reduction Specialist team will explain how landlords can protect their tenants with the correct security measures at a National Landlords Association (NLA) meeting.

Landlords will also learn how they can spot signs their properties are being used as drug factories.

Garry Heil, the NLA’s Bolton representative said: “It is essential landlords provide safe, secure properties for their tenants.

“However, landlords must also protect themselves and their properties from instances of crime such as drug production.

“It is vital that landlords carry out thorough background checks on prospective tenants to ensure they have a clear history and are likely to look after the property as their own.”

The meeting, which is open to all private landlords and letting agents, will be held from 6pm on November 22 at The Britannia Bolton Hotel, Beaumont Road.
