A SANTA dash race in aid of Bolton Society for Blind People has been postponed — for almost a year — due to health and safety issues.

The 2.5km dash around Leverhulme Park was due to take place on Sunday, December 16 with people raising a minimum of £50 each for the cause.

But the ground was not considered to be safe to be safe after an inspection by council staff. The event is now scheduled to take place in November next year.

The charity will inform anyone who had signed up or showed interested in taking part.
