BOLTON’S future will be discussed at the Vision conference. Leaders from Bolton’s public, private, faith, voluntary, education and community sector organisations will meet at Bolton College to lay out their plans for the future in front of more than 200 delegates.

Delegates can participate in a series of discussions, workshops and presentations throughout the conference, with discussions set to include the opportunity to explore and influence priorities around skills, alcohol and families in the coming year. The conference also builds upon joint working between the public, private and community sectors.

The chairman of the Vision Partnership, Chris Hopkinson, will preside over the conference.

Speakers will include Cllr Guy Harkin, Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Cliff Morris, leader of Bolton Council and Sean Harris, chief executive of Bolton Council.

Cllr Morris said: “The Vision Conference this year will be reflecting upon what has been a challenging year for Bolton, due to the difficult economic climate. However, despite the challenges, Bolton has hosted an exciting programme of events and activities including the Olympic Torch relay, Food and Drink Festival and Jason Kenny’s homecoming.

“These have helped put Bolton on the map and shown that we are welcoming and friendly. However, the conference will also focus on meeting the upcoming challenges that 2013 will bring, especially those around working with troubled families and improving skills across Bolton.”
