A BOLTON songstress beat off competition from across the North West to win £1,000.
Alex Gaskell, aged 21, from Bromley Cross, made her friends and family proud when she took the number one spot at the GCasino’s Got Talent Competition.
Miss Gaskell, who works as a retail assistant in Bank by day, wowed the crowds and judges with her version of I Can’t Make You Love Me, by George Michael and My Way, by Frank Sinatra.
Miss Gaskell has been singing since she was 11, but had not entered a competition since she was 16.
Proud mum Lesley Gaskell said: “Alex was completely over the moon to be announced as winner and I was so proud of her. She’s going to spend the money on a trip of a lifetime to Cuba next year with her boyfriend.”
Miss Gaskell, who tours with Shout Promotions, also won a recording session with Ted Entertainment.
