CHRISTMAS is a time to get festive — and for artistic children to get crafty.

Families across Horwich have been getting creative at Bolton College’s Crafty Christmas Club.

The after-school club — hosted by the Life and Family Learning department at the college’s Horwich Centre — brought local families together, combining festive arts and crafts with learning activities.

Primary schools in the area were involved with the event, which ran over three weeks.

They created recycled cards, gifts, decorations and festive food.

Jayne Tramontana, curriculum leader of Family Learning at Bolton College, said: “The Christmas Crafty Club was a great opportunity for families across Horwich to get together and spend quality time with each other.

“The support from the primary schools has been fantastic. They’ve really encouraged parents to come along and get involved.

“In the end, more than 40 families attended and we even had a waiting list.”
