A SUPERMARKET manager who had a Christmas Eve row with his parents appeared at Bolton magistrates court and pleaded guilty to drink-driving.

Wesley Davies, aged 35, of Blandford Close, Tyldesley, was arrested after being involved in a collision in his car in Derby Street, Bolton, on Christmas Day, said Joanna White, prosecuting. He was more than twice over the drink drive limit.

Yesterday, the court heard that Davies, who manages a Tesco store in St Helens, had slept in his car after an argument on Christmas Eve. His mother told District Judge Jonathan Finestein the incident was out of character and comes at the end of a period when her son had lost a job, his home and seen the break-up of his marriage.

Judge Finestein told Davies he was adjourning the case to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared but warned that him that could be banned from driving for 12 months. Davies will be sentenced on January 18.
