n POLICE have arrested a second person on suspicion of robbing a man who was found unconscious in a park.
David McDonald, aged 55, was found on the pathway of a park at the junction of Bradford Street and Bromwich Street, The Haulgh, on the night of Saturday, December 29.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
A 36-year-old woman, arrested earlier last week, has also been bailed.
Mr McDonald remains in a poorly but stable condition in hospital.
It is alleged that items had been stolen from the man — but it is unclear whether he was assaulted or whether the property was taken after he was lain unconscious.
Police believe he had been drinking in the town centre earlier that evening and was making his way home.
Anyone with information is asked to call CID on 0161 8565740 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
