YOUNG stargazers in Bolton can join the nation in looking to the skies.

Bolton Astronomy Society will be opening the heavens to the youngsters at the Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s environmental resource centre in Bury Road tonight at 6pm.

Chairman of the society and world-renowned astronomer Dave Ratledge will give a presentation and afterwards the Trust’s Young Adventurers will be able to look at the stars and planets through a new 16-inch telescope.

They will also get a chance to use scopes and kits to help them learn about the stars in the night sky over Bolton.

The event ties in with BBC Two’s current series of Stargazing Live.

Anyone interested in joining the Young Adventurers or attending the meeting can call 01204 663754.
