A FIRST date ended with a man being arrested for assault.
Stuart Mason, aged 45, of Curzon Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to assaulting Amanda Hodgkinson at her home in Blackpool.
Magistrates in the town fined Mason £110, ordered him to pay his victim £50 compensation and he was made subject of a six-month restraining order.
The court heard that after arriving by invitation at Ms Hodgkinson’s home, they did not hit it off and she asked him to leave. She prodded him and he pushed her to the floor and took hold of her face.
Ms Hodgkinson then went to the kitchen and returned carrying a knife and Mason disarmed her.
They had both been drinking, magistrates heard. The police were called and Mason was arrested, the court was told.
