POLICE are making another appeal for witnesses to an attack which left a man fighting for his life.
The victim, a 47-year-old man from Tyldesley, was hit over the head — thought to be after he was seen tampering with a car. He has been in hospital since the incident on Wednesday, January 2.
Now, two weeks after the attack, police are again asking for witnesses to contact them.
It happened shortly after 8.30pm when the victim was walking home along Henry Street, Tyldesley. He was hit with a metal bar and is still in a serious condition in hospital.
Det Insp Martin Reddington said: “It’s two weeks since this man was attacked and he remains very poorly, although there have been signs of improvement. We have made inquiries, but we still need to speak to more witnesses. I believe there were people in the area that we have yet to speak to.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 8567252 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
