BOLTON Hospice is appealing to anyone left disappointed by the cancellation of Greater Manchester’s Shine walk to take part in the Midnight Memories walk instead.
Shine, a fundraising event in support of Cancer Research UK, has been cancelled for this year.
Bolton Hospice is now urging anyone who had planned to do the Shine walk to take part in the organisation’s annual eight-mile Midnight Memories Walk, on June 15.
Last year, 1,700 people took part and raised more than £135,000.
Hospice fundraising manager Alice Atkinson said “We would gladly welcome anyone affected by the cancellation of Shine who wanted to take part in our walk, which is a truly wonderful event that brings so many people together to support our work.
“We’re incredibly lucky and grateful for the support we receive currently, but as a local charity we need all the support we can get.”
Anyone who wants to take part can contact the hospice on 01204 663055 or at fundraising@boltonhospice.org.
