TIME is running out for Bolton residents to claim up to £1,000 to fund boiler improvements.
Bolton Council has been awarded £144,466 by the Department of Health to help more people keep warm and the council is using some of the cash to provide grants to people who have an old inefficient boiler, no boiler or whose central heating does not work properly.
But due to the nature of the funding the scheme will not be available after March.
The grant can be used toward the cost of an A-rated boiler or improvements to central heating systems and the grants are available for people on certain benefits.
To find out more ring Bolton Council’s home improvement agency Bolton Care and Repair on 01204 335679 or email boltoncareandrepair@boltonathome.org.uk.
Eligible residents will have an assessment carried out and will be provided with a recommendation of the work required as well as a list of local competitive installers.
