THE Christie Hospital is investigating after a patient told health bosses that he and his wife have to get up very early in the morning to get to appointments.

The man, whose wife is receiving treatment at the hospital in Manchester, spoke at a meeting arranged by health bosses and The Bolton News at the Albert Halls on Thursday.

He told the panel they had to get up at 6am to travel from Bolton to get to 9am appointments at the hospital.

A spokesman from The Christie said the matter had been referred to the hospital’s patient advice and liaison service, who will contact the man about his concerns.

The meeting, arranged to discuss the Healthier Together review of healthcare services in Bolton and across Greater Manchester, brought together health chiefs, councillors, union representatives and members of the public.
