A THEATRE has been kitted out with £16,000 of seats just in time for its next play.
Tyldesley Little Theatre’s (TLT) production of Flamingoland begins tonight and audiences will be the first to grace the new seats.
Viridor Credits, which provides funding for community, heritage and biodiversity projects, gave a grant of £8,000 towards the revamp.
The old seats, which were more than 35 years old, were put up for sale on eBay and fetched £64 from a buyer in Leeds.
This was the third grant from Viridor Credits, a not-for-profit organisation, which has previously contributed to projects including upgrading toilets, decorating the foyer, re-styling of the basement and repairs to the roof.
Flamingoland, written by ex-Coronation Street actress Deborah McAndrew, is a bittersweet Northern comedy drama.
It runs from tonight until Saturday, phone 01204 655619.
