BOLTON actress Amy Nuttall picked up an award for Downton Abbey at the Screen Actor’s Guild awards.
The show beat Mad Men and Homeland to take home the prestigious award at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The 30-year-old, pictured, who went to Bury Grammar School, joined her co-stars to accept the award for outstanding ensemble in a drama series for Downton Abbey.
Stars of the country house period series, including Phyllis Logan, Michelle Dockery and Amy, told the audience they were “absolutely overwhelmed by it all”.
Daniel Day-Lewis was named best actor for his performance as the American president in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, Ben Affleck’s CIA thriller Argo won the overall cast performance award and Jennifer Lawrence’s performance in Silver Linings Playbook was named the outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role.
There was a lifetime-achievement award for Mary Poppins actor Dick Van Dyke.
