BOLTON at Home bosses say they are committed to being “one of the town’s most significant” employers” after revealing the strength of their workforce.
The housing association employs more than 900 people and runs a 64-place apprenticeship programme with Bolton College, as well as eight work clubs.
Chief executive Jon Lord said: “We’re committed to helping our customers develop their skills and improve their employment prospects. For example our eight work clubs, held weekly around Bolton, have helped more than 650 customers to get a job or closer to work in the last two years.
“We also recognise that we’re a significant employer in the town, employing more than 900 people and running an apprenticeship programme with Bolton College for 64 apprentices currently.”
Ian Ankers, director of Bolton at Home’s housing services and vice chairman of the Northern Housing Consortium, said the figures were a reflection of the stability of the housing sector.
The Northern Housing Consortium represents the views of housing organ-isations in the north of England.
