Podiatrist faces conduct hearing

A PODIATRIST is set to appear before a disciplinary committee accused of dishonesty, incompetence and misconduct.
Peter Collins, aged 43, worked for NHS Bolton in 2009, the time the allegations relate to.
He is due to appear before the Health and Care Processions Council’s conduct and competence committee on Monday for a three-day disciplinary hearing at The Hilton Hotel in Manchester.
He is accused of six infringements broken down into 57 individual allegations.
Mr Collins, of Ashtonin- Makerfield, is accused of not providing prompt treatment to three patients at Waters Meeting Health Centre, Bolton, on two dates in late 2009.
He is alleged to have not demonstrated appropriate communication skills with colleagues.
The report says he was “abrupt, unhelpful, dismissive and/or intimidating”.
Those allegations relate to eight colleagues.
Mr Collins is also accused of being “disrespectful, sarcastic, unfriendly and/or abrupt” to four patients and it is alleged he did not properly account for his time on 11 separate dates between April and October, 2009.
There are also 32 allegations Mr Collins did not keep accurate or upto- date patient records between April and November, 2009.
The report adds: “Your actions were dishonest, constitute misconduct and/or a lack of competence and constitute misconduct.”
An NHS Bolton spokesman said: “We are aware of the impending hearing.
“As soon as concerns regarding this case were raised, we suspended the employee while an investigation was carried out.
“Following that process, the employee was dismissed from the organisation, and we have been supporting the HCPC with its investigations since then.”
Mr Collins said he did not wish to comment on the allegations.
Last month, The Bolton News reported that Mr Collins was given a ninemonth prison sentence, suspended for two years, and a 12-month supervision order after admitting a charge of affray.
Bolton Crown Court heard he had pinned his now estranged wife to a wall at her home in Tonge Fold, held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her

Don't comment on something you know nothing about. This man is a friend of ours and nothing above is correct! Especially the last bit. Comments like the above should be removed please moderators. Simplest thing would be not to allow people to comment at all!
