AN injured man was taken to hospital by the North West Air Ambulance after suffering burns while working at a Blackrod restaurant.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to Suzanna’s in Little Scotland at around 3.35pm today.

A man, aged 28, suffered burns to his hands and face and was taken to hospital by air ambulance. A woman suffered burns to her arms and face.

Neither person is thought to have suffered life threatening injuries.

Firefighters from Horwich and Hindley attended the fire, which took place in the kitchen.

A spokesman for Suzanna’s confirmed the restaurant had closed due to the incident but would hopefully be back open tomorrow.
