A DISCIPLINARY committee is expected make a decision today about allegations made against a podiatrist who worked for NHS Bolton looking after the elderly.

Peter Collins, who worked at the Waters Meeting Health Centre, appeared before the Health and Care Professions Council conduct and competence committee accused of not providing prompt treatment and being disrespectful, sarcastic, unfriendly and/or abrupt to patients in a number of instances.

The committee had earlier heard allegations that he did not properly account for his time on 11 separate dates.

The allegations, which he denies, relate to 2009.

Mr Collins, from Ashton-in- Makerfield, is also accused of not keeping accurate or up-todate records between April and November of that year, and he had earlier accepted, through his representative, that his record-keeping was not up to the standard required.

The Health and Care Professions Council spent the day delibrating at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester and is expected to make a final decision today.
