POP star Danny Jones showed his support for organ donation when he appeared on a special ITV show.

The 26-year-old and his bandmates took part in a pre-recorded comedy race for the hour-long show, From the Heart, which was broadcast on Wednesday.

But the Bromley Cross lad did not appear live on the show with the rest of the band as he was back in Bolton staying with family following the recent death of his grandfather.

McFly performed All About You on the programme, which is part of ITV’s week-long campaign to encourage people to sign the NHS organ donation register.

Dermot O’Leary hosted the show, which also included Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Pixie Lott, Harry Enfield, Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues orchestra, and Alexandra Burke.

He showed a clip of McFly racing against members of the GB Transplant Games sports team.

Danny won the race and on the show his bandmates said he was “very competitive”.

Earlier this week, Danny tweeted his thanks for condolence messages he had received since his grandfather died.

He said: “Overwhelmed with the messages I’ve been getting from our fans. It means so much and you are helping me and our family so much thanks.”
