THE opinions of Bolton News writer Derrick Grocock were put to the test on Sunday’s Top Gear show on BBC2.
The Northern Group of Motoring Writers, of which Mr Grocock is vice-chairman, hailed the new Kia Cee’d Northern Car of the Year.
Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson put the car to the test by looking at aspects including speed, parking ease and price, in a segment which also featured cameos from former Friends star Matt Le Blanc and Bruce Willis as Die Hard’s John McClane.
Mr Clarkson said: “I think it’s good-looking on the outside and the inside as well. It’s well equipped and it’s passed nearly all of our tests with flying colour.
“Good enough for Mr Grocock and good enough for Top Gear.”
Mr Grocock said: “The nation’s top TV motoring show just confirms our views on the well-deserved sales success of Kia nationwide.”
