Fans’ favourite Stuart joins search for a Young Wonder

BOLTON Wanderers comeback king and fans’ favourite Stuart Holden is launching the search for the town’s Young Wonders.

Crompton Place Shopping Centre in the heart of the town centre has teamed up with The Bolton News to find young people in our communities who deserve a big pat on the back.

They could look out for an elderly neighbour, play an important role in their local church, community centre or youth club or are a rising sports star.

Shortlisted youngsters picked by the judges will be featured in The Bolton News with a final overall winner announced later in the year.

The winner will receive a bumper stack of prizes from retailers at Crompton Place Shopping Centre.

Stuart has battled back from a serious knee injury and returned to the side for the first time in 16 months during Bolton’s 2-0 FA Cup win at Sunderland last month.

USA international Stuart’s skill and big-hearted displays for Wanderers have made him a firm favourite with Whites fans.

The 27-year-old said: “The whole team is behind this search to recognise the talented and bright youngsters we all know Bolton has.

“It is a great idea for Crompton Place and The Bolton News to celebrate the good things going on among the young people of the town and I am looking forward to reading about some of the stories behind the entries.

“I would urge everyone to have a good think about the young people in their communities who deserve a pat on the back either for the work they do, the troubles they have overcome or for simply being a good example to their peers. Get nominating now!”

Malcolm Angus, Crompton Place manager, who will be one of the judges, added: “We want to hear about the young people of Bolton who deserve some recognition for the good work they do or the selfless acts they carry out on a regular basis.”

To nominate a young person you know, aged 18 and under, email a short description of them along with your contact details, including a daytime telephone number, to claire@ceidiog.com.

The competition will close on March 25.
