THE son of a convicted murderer is appealing a sentence, which was imposed after he was found guilty of threatening his own cousin.
Grant Workman, aged 25, of Plantation Road, Edgworth, was found guilty at Bolton Magistrates Court in December of being abusive and threatening violence towards his cousin, David Workman, on May 16.
Workman, son of Ian Workman, who was jailed for stabbing his estranged wife to death, was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £15. He was ordered to pay £500 court costs.
Grant Workman threatened to break his cousin’s legs and kill him, his trial in December heard.
Ian Workman is serving a 17-and-a-half year jail term after a jury unanimously convicted him of his wife’s murder in December, 2011.
Workman’s appeal was due to be heard yesterday at Bolton Crown Court but it was adjourned for further inquiries to be made. It will be heard on April 17.
