POLICE are warning people to keep their keys in a safe place after three cars were stolen in Westhoughton.
Burglars broke into two houses in Greenbridge Gardens over the weekend.
They smashed a window at one house at 3.45am on Sunday, grabbing keys and stealing a car which was later found in Atherton.
In the same street, a Volkswagen Golf, reg DG12 RVP, and Mini Cooper, reg MA62 PYJ, were also stolen.
The thieves used a device to poke through the letter box and hook the keys, which were close to the door.
Police have stepped up patrols in the area. PCSO Steve Best said: “We are reminding people to take keys out of the door and to keep them out of sight. The harder it is for the thieves the less likely you are to be targeted.”
