JASON Kenny has thanked his fans for congratulating him after winning gold at the Track Cycling World Championships on Friday.
The three-times Olympic gold medalist already has one World Championship medal to his name — after Gregory Bauge was stripped of the medal in 2011 for an anti-doping violation.
And now he has a second, after winning the Keirin final.
The 24-year-old, a former Mount St Joseph’s pupil, took to Twitter to thank his fans after the race.
He tweeted: “World champion! I can’t believe it ... what an unreal day. Thanks for all the messages.”
His girlfriend, Olympic champion Laura Trott , aged 20, tweeted her excitement after the win and said she was the “happiest girlfriend in the world”.
