Family pay tribute to woman killed in road crash

THE family of a woman killed in a road crash have paid tribute to her.
Margaret Davies died after she was in collision with a Toyota Avensis in Blackburn Road, near to its junction with Bar Lane.
She suffered serious head injuries in the crash at 6.50pm on Friday and was taken to hospital, where she died in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Paying tribute, Margaret’s family said: “Margaret left behind a loving family who are all deeply shocked at their loss. She was a loving and caring mother who could not do enough for her family and friends. She helped people in many ways, as a volunteer in a school, as a brown belt in karate helping younger students and as a grandma most of all. She will be greatly missed. "
The driver of the Toyota was treated for severe shock.
The section of road was closed in both directions for several hoursas specialist road traffic collision officers carried out an investigation.
