Councillors to quiz health trust over hospital

QUESTIONS about coding practices, job cuts and a time frame for a chief executive at the Royal Bolton Hospital will be asked at Bolton Council’s health, overview and scrutiny committee.

Tomorrow’s meeting will discuss recent issues at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, including Dr Foster’s report into coding practices, in which a number of deaths were found to be incorrectly coded, sparking a huge investigation.

Councillors are likely to ask Bolton’s Clinical Commissioning Group about the report, which was published on Wednesday.

They are also expected to talk about the consultation over 500 job cuts at the trust, which is due to end on Thursday, and to ask when a permanent chief executive will be appointed.

The meeting takes place between 5pm and 7pm, in committee room A, at Bolton Town Hall.

The fat controller will have ensured that no questions are asked which could cause him some discomfort.

What a waste of time, money and effort. When was the last time a form filler saved a life at Bolton Hospital. Allowing local politicians to run our hospitals is like letting the lunatics run the asylum.
So the meeting will consist of Labour councillors trying to avoid asking other Labour councillors how they screwed up and instead shoot the messenger Dr Foster.
The only discomfort for the fat controller will be if he does not get his £40k expenses this year (nice job if you can get it).

Why is my council tax been wasted it is being investigated by a team already.

Or is this to aid captain cliff morris's book of excusses as he jumped of the ship just as it was hitting the iceberg leaving the passengers to drown.

Obviously knowing full well the depth of trouble.
