ROTARIANS are joining forces to pay tribute to Fusilier Lee Rigby by holding a fundraising concert in Bolton.
The Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire), together with the Manchester branch of the Scots Guards Association Pipes And Drums, will perform a two-hour show on Saturday, October 12, at Victoria Hall.
The Rotary clubs of Great Harwood and Rishton, Middleton, Rochdale East and Bolton are organising the concert in aid of the Fusilier Aid Society — for Fusilier Rigby’s family — as well as the Fusilier Museum and Polio Eradication, one of Rotary’s chosen international charities.
Fusilier Rigby, above — a drummer with the second battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers — was killed in Woolwich, London, in May.
Thousands of people turned out to pay their respects when his funeral was held at Bury Parish Church.
Tickets cost £10 and will go on sale next week at the Fusilier Museum in Bury, Booth’s music shop in Churchgate, Bolton, and from various Rotary clubs.
Alternatively, call Ann-Marie Etherington on 07739 689710.
