A WOMAN was fined after being overpaid £2,757 in housing and council tax benefits.
The supermarket worker failed to attend Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday and the case was found proven in her absence.
Magistrates heard that her hours and earnings had risen between 2011 and 2012. She later admitted failing to declare the changes to Bolton Council, which administered her housing tax benefit.
Magistrates ordered Miss Hinard to repay £2,757 in benefits. She also received a £175 fine and was ordered to pay £350 in costs and a £20 surcharge.
