Carjack victim attacked with hammer

A CARJACKING victim spent several days in hospital after being hit with a hammer.
The victim, aged 44, was loading food into his silver Honda CRV for delivery on Saturday, August 24 at 11.30pm, while outside the New Good Food takeaway in Westleigh Lane, Leigh.
He was approached from behind and dragged out of the car where demands were made for his car keys and he was hit to the forehead with a weapon, believed to be a hammer.
The thief then got into the car and drove off in the direction of Atherleigh Way. It was later found abandoned on Croydon Avenue in Leigh.
The suspect is described as white, aged in his early 20s, about 5ft 7ins tall and wearing dark clothing.”
Detective Constable Alison Wallwork said: “The man we are looking for is a violent offender who attacked this man with a weapon, leaving him with a nasty head injury.
“I would appeal to anyone who thinks they know the identity of the offender, or has information about this incident, to call us.
