Drink-driver wrote off parked car in 2am crash

A DRINK-driver who crashed into a parked car has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 18 months.
Aurea Curwood, aged 39, was nearly twice over the legal limit when she crashed her Toyota Yaris car at 2.10am on August 18.
She hit a Suzuki Wagon, which had to be written off, in Manchester Road, Blackrod.
Police and firefighters were called and the road was closed while investigations took place.
Firefighters are believed to have turned the Toyota back over after it flipped on to its side.Curwood, who lives in Manchester Road where the crash took place, admitted drink-driving as she was caught with 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath — the legal limit is 35.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard she had been drinking in the Red Lion pub earlier. Her ban will be reduced to 14 months if she completes an approved course.
She was fined £110, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
Afterwards Suzuki owner Andrew McVee said: “It has caused me a great deal of anxiety and stress.”
