Stilt performers end the summer on a high
THESE quirky stilt performers took Bolton’s summer entertainment to new heights with their “global rhythms”.
The Stilt Batteristas lively performance in Victoria Square marked an end to summer of street entertainment in Bolton town centre.
Magicians, comedians, an escapologist, jugglers, clowns, balloonists and Latin musicians were all part of a medley of fun provided by Bolton Council in August.
Chris Cross the Contortionist, the Drum Machine and the Rapide Brothers also proved to be popular acts with shoppers and council chiefs.
Cllr Cliff Morris, Leader of Bolton Council, said the entertainment organised by Bolton Council had been a boost for the town’s footfall. He added: “The street entertainment organised by the Council during August was well received by families and shoppers alike. Many people stopped to watch the wide variety of performances which gave the town centre a lively appeal.
“Chris Cross, the contortionist, was particulary popular, as were the Drum Machine and the Rapide Brothers, and there were long queues for the face painter, balloon artists and the giant games.
“The entertainment encouraged people to come into the town centre and was a really positive and enjoyable way to bring the summer holiday period to a close.”
