Seven people in court over alleged £3.8 million mephedrone factory in Farnworth
SEVEN people allegedly involved in a £3.8 million mephadrone factory in Farnworth have appeared at Bolton Crown Court.
The men and women face a range of charges relating to the alleged sale of 313kgs of the drug online after a raid on an industrial unit in Bloomfield Road, Farnworth.
The drug became illegal in 2010.
It is also known as ‘meow meow’ and ‘bubble’.
The defendants were due to enter pleas to the charges but the case was adjourned until November 4.
A trial date has been scheduled for March, next year and is expected to last around six weeks.
Paula White, aged 44, of Stafford Road, Monton, and Netta Hymanson, aged 62, of Circular Road, Prestwich, are both accused of conspiracy to supply class A, B and C drugs and two counts of money laundering.
Paula White appeared via a video link. Five other people have also appeared in court charged with conspiracy to supply Class A, B and C drugs.
They are: Aaron White, aged 20, of Croft Street, Salford; Christian White, aged 37, of Croft Street, Salford; Michaela Doyle, aged 42, of Tenbury Close, Salford; Sheena Jessop, aged 45, of Barwood Lea Mill, Grants Lane, Ramsbottom; and Rudi Chiu, aged 24, of Masson Place, Hornbeam Way, Manchester.
